Territorial jurisdiction of the archive: municipality of the city of Valjevo and municipalities of Lajkovac, Ljig, Mionica, Osečina and Ub.
Through the many years of activity of its employees, the Valjevo archive took over a total of 236 registry and auxiliary books from all six municipalities for which it is responsible between 1988 and 1999. From the taken over church registry books, 19 new archival (otherwise incomplete) funds were formed in the archive, according to the names of the parish churches. The books were processed and a summary inventory was made for each fund. During the takeover, significant damage was noticed and determined on most of them, so a large number of them were proposed for restoration and binding, and all for microfilming. In the meantime, about two thirds of the registry books have been digitized in the Valjevo archive.

Parish registers outside the archives: subject to return to churches
The Valjevo Archives has compiled a list of church registers from Valjevo and the municipalities of Mionica, Ljig, Ub, Lajkovac, and Osečina that have been returned to religious institutions. The registry office of the Valjevo City Administration returned 189 registers to the Diocese of Valjevo, and three registers to the Catholic Church in Valjevo. In other municipalities, the books have mostly been prepared for return, but possibly have not yet been returned. The registry offices of these municipalities have copied all the books, and digital copies have not been made for most of the books. These are mainly church registers from the first half of the 20th century from the entire territory of the Kolubara District.
