Parish Registers (Matične knjige)
The Archives hold original parish registers, duplicate copies (parice), and detailed inventories for multiple religious communities.
Roman Catholic parish registers (baptisms, marriages, deaths) preserved in the State Archives in Slavonski Brod and its departments cover a broad chronological span from the early 18th century to the mid-20th century, depending on parish and series. The ealiest surviving registers are from Velika Kopanica, with baptisms from 1725, burials from 1733, marriages from 1780, and Sikirevci and Šumeće, with registers beginning in the 1790s.
Most parishes preserve registers from 1856–1878, reflecting standardized recordkeeping introduced in the Habsburg period. Extensive duplicate series (parice) exist for most Roman Catholic parishes, generally covering 1886–1946, with gaps during World War I and World War II years. Roman Catholic registers cover parishes including (among others): Bebrina, Donji Andrijevci, Garčin, Gundinci, Kaniža, Klakar, Kruševica, Oprisavci, Podcrkavlje, Podvinje, Sibinj, Sikirevci, Slavonski Brod, Slobodnica, Svilaj, Šumeće, Trnjani, Velika Kopanica, Vrbje, and Vrpolje.
Serbian Orthodox parish registers are primarily from the late 18th and 19th centuries, including baptisms, marriages, deaths, and extensive duplicate series. Serbian Orthodox parish registers preserved under inventory HR-DASB-344 primarily cover the late 18th and 19th centuries, with some continuation into the early 20th century. Earliest records are from Novo Topolje parish, with marriages from 1778, baptisms from 1807, burials from 1807s.
Most parishes have registers beginning between 1875 and 1885, reflecting administrative consolidation after the Military Frontier period. The last original registers generally extend to 1908–1911, depending on parish. Large series of duplicate registers (parice) cover 1886–1941, with documented gaps during wartime years (especially 1914–1919). Orthodox parishes represented include Bodegraj, Gređani, Klokočevik, Medari, Nova Gradiška, Novo Topolje, Okučani, Rogolji, Ratkovac, Slavonski Brod, Slavonski Kobaš, Stara Gradiška, Stari Slatinik, Staro Petrovo Selo, Šumetlica, and Vrbovljani.
Greek Catholic (Uniate) parish registers are preserved for Kaniža and Sibinj, Evangelical (Augsburg Confession) registers for the Evangelical parish in Slavonski Brod, and Jewish community registers for the rabbinates of Slavonski Brod, Cernik, Pakrac, and Požega, documenting births, marriages, and deaths of Jewish families in Brod-Posavina and Požega-Slavonia counties, mainly from the 19th century onward.
Below alphabetical and parish-based PDF lists (in Croatian), indicating which registers are held locally and which are preserved elsewhere (civil registry offices, other archives, or parishes).

Research Notes
As elsewhere in Croatia, parish registers in this region are distributed across multiple repositories due to historical administrative changes, duplication practices, wartime losses, and post-1945 civil registration reforms. Researchers are advised to consult the published inventories and verify the current location of specific registers before planning archival visits.
